Held over two days in the purpose-built ESA conference facility in Harwell, Oxfordshire, the packed agenda includes sessions from industry professionals on UK and international IOSM strategy, current and planned IOSM applications, enabling technology and regulation, skills and investment. It also provides dedicated time for delegates to network with other attendees to share ideas and develop collaborations.

Speakers include

Mark Arthur, UK Managing Director, Benchmark Space Systems 

Mark Arthur is a seasoned UK space industry veteran with deep engineering, management, and operations experience with a broad range of global space and defense companies. During his operational career he worked at Eumetsat on earth observation missions and then with Newskies (now SES) on communications and DTH broadcast satellites. He then went on to manufacturing and operational management roles at Raytheon, AAC Clyde Space and Airbus, among others. Arthur’s award-winning career spans three decades of innovative leadership, beginning with twelve years of service with the Royal Air Force. He was nominated for the 2022 Scottish Ex-Forces Outstanding Achiever of the Year Award.


Jason Aspiotis, Director, Axiom 

Jason leads Axiom Space's strategy and services development in national security, orbital data infrastructure, Space mobility and logistics (SML), and in-Space servicing, assembly, and manufacturing (ISAM). Jason has 20+ years of experience in technical, organizational and project leadership, R&D, systems engineering, strategy, finance, and business development in the Space, defense, and financial technology industries.


Stéphanie Behar Lafenêtre, Eross Lod Coordinator, Thales Alenia Space 

Started out as a mechanical and structural engineer at Alcatel Space in 2000. Worked on the development of the ultra-stable instrument on the GOCE mission (measuring gravity from space). From 2005 onwards specialised on mirrors and ceramic materials and worked as an expert on ceramics for 10 years. In parallel, led several R&D projects over broader and broader specialties for 15 years. Since 2021 is Project Manager of the EROSS projects series, developing robotics and rendezvous technologies together with the associated demonstration mission.

Daniel Faber, Founding CEO, Orbit Fab 

Daniel Faber is an engineer and entrepreneur with over 20 years of space technology leadership. He worked in the core engineering team building and launching over a dozen satellites for environmental monitoring, telecommunications, astronomy, and human habitation.

Andrew Griffith, Minister of State for Science Research and Innovation

Andrew was appointed in November 2023 having previously served as the UK's Economic Secretary in HM Treasury. He is a former senior business executive and investor who served on Sky’s Board of Directors from 2008 until 2019, being the youngest FTSE100 Chief Financial Officer on his appointment. He is a former Minister for Policy and Head of the 10 Downing Street Policy Unit. 

Dr Rory Holmes, UK Managing Director, ClearSpace 

Rory has over 15 years’ experience in the space industry, working both at manufactures and operators, delivering programs for both commercial and institutional customers (ESA, UKSA, CNES). Technical Program Manager at Google Loon – managing software development activities for cutting-edge network management solutions to satcom customers. Rory achieved a Master of Physics degree from Oxford University, a PhD from the University of Heidelberg.


Dr Katie King, CEO, BioOrbit 

BioOrbit is a company building a pharmaceuticals factory in microgravity to revolutionise cancer treatment. Katie completed her PhD in nanomedicine at the University of Cambridge in 2022, has worked at NASA, AstraZeneca and spent several years as an RAF volunteer reservist. She is a strong believer that science in a microgravity environment can be used to accelerate healthcare and drug development on Earth, and recently won the ‘Innovator Award 2024’ at Everywoman in Tech Awards.
